Weird Ads

If you thought that the Superbowl was the only time to pay attention to ads, you are very much mistaken. The people in the marketing departments of the large companies are very much interested in taking it to the next level of advertising. I mean we have all seen the "personalized" ads while on the computer checking internet fax or emails but some of these new ideas take the whole personalization concept to a whole new level. For example, there is a company that advertises by using sound from ultrasonic devices which actually shoot out the sound that it is heard far away without increasing the volume. This technique more or less makes you wonder if you are in fact losing your mind and need to seek help from a paid friend that you can talk to. Another type of advertisement is done by the companies collecting sound information from your computer's microphone and then advertising based on that. Personally, not only is it creepy but it also seems like an invasion of privacy and certain things that are said can be misunderstood. We already deal with ads that are based on location and what is browsed on the computer.
